Making Your Eyes Go From Daytime to Date Night to Girls Night Out

Its so simple to transform your looks to adapt to the activities that you're doing. Some don't realize that you can do it in literally just a few minutes. We've all had those days... Picture this. It's been a long looooong week and you just want to get out and let your hair down a bit and just relax. If you're anything like me, a 45 minute commute from work to home is not my idea of winding down. After getting off of work at 5:30, all I want to do is spend some QT with my love. A date night is the the perfect way to wind down. Plus, do I really need to mention that I'm famished! I'll bet you are too.

Here are a few easy steps for transforming your look to fit your "extra curricular activities".

Materials Used:

The Daytime Look

The Date Night Look
and sometimes you just need to go out with your BFF's after a romantic night with your "boo".

The Girls Night Look

See! It's simple. In just a matter of minutes you can adapt your look to your activity.

New tribal print bag from Target. It's a small crossbody satchel with a round bottom. Perfect for lazy spring and summer days and nights. Not something I'd usually pick out but I'm so glad I did. It's helping me channel my inner hippie.

Spring ready legs in 5 easy steps

We all know how awful the winter can be on our legs. Paleness, dry itchy alligator skin, and let's not look passed the days of not shaving. It all takes a huge toll on our prized possessions for spring and summer, our legs. You've gotta prep them for the upcoming months of short shorts and cute dresses. Lucky for you all, I've got an easy remedy for giving your legs permission to come out and play!

Things you will need:
• A sugar scrub (I'm using Burt's Bees but I've seen many different kinds. You can easily make your own at home. Pinterest has tons of sugar scrub concoctions.)
• A new razor
• An after shower bath oil (today I used Benefits Bathina but I often use plain old Baby Oil)
• A gradual self tanning lotion or spray (I prefer Jergens Natural Glow)

Step 1. While in the shower, take a scoop of your sugar scrub and slough it all over your legs in large circular motions. Really work it around. Don't neglect your heels. Lord knows they've been dying to see sunlight, too. Do not rinse yet.

Step 2. Carefully begin shaving your legs. Wipe your razor after each stroke. Believe me, the oil in your sugar scrub is going to make the hair clump so you'll want to keep a washcloth close by to wipe off the hair. Sounds nasty but a girls gotta do, what a girls gotta do.

Step 3. Take another scoop of your sugar scrub and rub it all over your legs again. Now you can rinse and finish showering as usual.

Step 4. Apply your after bath oil to your wet legs. Do not dry them. Let them air dry. This will help the oils to soak into your skin naturally and you're not wiping any of it off. Because oil and water don't mix, the oil is more evenly distributed when you apply it to wet legs. Otherwise, on dry legs,  you get a bunch of oil on the section you start at and will end up having to use more product than needed.

Step 5. Once the oil has soaked in, about 15 minutes or so, you can apply your lotion or spray evenly over your legs.

Your legs will not only be oh so silky smooth but they will immediately begin to have a perfect glow.

Follow these easy steps a few times a week when it begins to get warm out and there will be no shame in walking out of the house in that cute little spring dress.

Quick Look: Bora Bora Palette from Be A Bombshell

I received an amazing palette in my March Ipsy Bag, the Be A Bombshell Bora Bora palette. So many looks can be created with this small palette. Here is the one I created this morning.

Begin by taping off the corner of your eye and apply NYX Milk to lid.

Apply the lightest shade of brown to crease.

Apply the darker brown shade to lower crease and outer V.

Use a flat brush to pack the teal color to the outer 1/2 of your lid.

Apply the rust color to the inner 1/2 of your lid.
Apply a light shimmer shade to the highest point of the browbone and inner tear duct area of the eye.
Use a clean brush and blend the colors slightly into each other.

Remove tape.

Apply black liquid liner to upper lash line and smudge the rust and teal shade along your lower lash line.
Apply black to your water line.
Apply mascara.

Random Acts of Kindness --- The True Beauty.

There's a lot to be said about beauty. It comes in all forms. It's that perfect liner, that great hair day, the bathing suit that makes you feel like a million bucks. Even more importantly, it's in special moments of your life. The picture perfect sunsets at the end of a long day or that brief second that your child smiles for the first time. Who really can put a limit on what your perception of beauty is? It's all up to you. It's up to you how you choose to portray your beauty to others. I know. You're probably wondering where I'm going with all of this. The answer is simple. Today, I came across an unexpected thing of beauty and I really wanted to share it with you all.

We all have our up and down days. There are times when you feel like the weight of the world is on your shoulders and you just can't get out of your funk. For me, today (this week actually), was one of those days. As I walked to my car to go home, I noticed there was a card on my windshield.

I'm not going to lie, my first thought was that it was another sarcastic note telling me that my parking skills needed to be brushed up. What can I say, I'm not the one you want parking next to you. My motto... "it doesn't matter how crooked you are, as long as you're inside the lines, you're good." Then, I thought for a brief and I mean brief second that my husband maybe left sweet nothings on my  windshield. But to my surprise as I opened it, it was neither.
It was just a few words of inspiration from a random person. Now I am in no way a religious person but just the thought that someone took the time to write cards with inspirational quotes (religious or not) and deliver them in 20 degree weather really warmed my heart. It made me really stop to think about the more important things in life. It made me take a look at myself as a person and ask myself why is it that I don't do more things such as this.  This one gesture was one of the most beautiful experiences I've had in a very long time and it just so happened that it came to me in my time of need.

I will probably never know who did this, nor do I want to. It's just the fact that this note made a positive impact on my day [and a few others as well (I saw the cards on their windshields)] and if they wanted to be identified, they would have said so. That's what makes it so beautiful.

It is things like this that show the epitome of beauty, inner beauty. It doesn't matter who you are or how hard you try to be beautiful on the outside, it's the beauty from within that really shines through.

I took the time to look at the Facebook link and this is what I found...
Thank you Compassion Cards. This really made my day.
