Sending a little Happy Endings your way!

This CRACKED. ME. Up!

These are a few of my favorite things

Boots!

The Gea

These boots are by far the best thing I've added to my shoe collection in years! You can dress them up or dress them down and they go with just about everything. They have this amazing soft fur lining inside that just makes you feel like you are walking on air. They are so lightweight and effortless to put on. Unlike alot of boots, there is no struggle to put them on. You can find these at Just Fab for a steal! I was lucky enough to take advantage of their Black Friday 50% off sale and got these for $20!

Aztec! Aztec! Aztec! Aztec! Aztec! Aztec!

Aztec ANYTHING!

I am so into Aztec prints right now. Big cozy sweaters, scarves, leggings ... If its Aztec print, I will probably love it. You can get them in prints as simple as black and white or you can get them in a variety of amazing color combinations and patterns.

These color combinations open a door to a variety of make up looks. The possibilities are endless.

You can purchase these items and a ton more on Wanelo!

December Ipsy Bag Product Reviews

Mai Couture Highlighter Papier
  • Surprisingly satisfied with this product. I'm usually not a huge fan of paper blotters and such but this really surprised me. It added just the right amount of glow. Ive used it several times so far for holiday parties and dinners and I have to admit, it gave me a perfect evening glow.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Pencil

  • Love! Love! Love! This liner. For a pencil it glides on so smoothly, almost like gel. The stay power is definitely 24/7. This is my new go-to black liner.

Urban Decay Beauty Balm
I have to say I was really disappointed in this product. The color was all wrong the texture seemed nice but the coverage was lacking. I really had high hopes for this one but it was a fail in my book. Sorry Urban Decay, try again.

Mirabella Prime for face and eyes

    • Wow! What a great primer. Goes on so silky smooth and is a perfect base for your favorite make up for eyes or face. The stay power is awesome and makes your make up feel light as air on your skin with am airbrushed look to it as well. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a good primer.

    Proof to be Proud?

My entire life I've been proud of who I am, proud of where I came from

and proud of my Puerto Rican heritage.

As a child, I knew that I was Puerto Rican, there were no ifs, ands or buts about it, I was just Katia, a Puerto Rican girl and no one ever questioned it. I have no memories of people asking me if I was "full" Puerto Rican or telling me that because I didn't like a certain food I wasn't a "real" Puerto Rican. I was taught to be proud of my heritage just like anyone else would be.

I refuse now, as an adult, to explain myself to random people who don't know my story. I don't feel the need to.

I'm finding that the older I get, the more I'm questioned. And the older I get the more offensive it is. How dare some one question my heritage or anyone else's for that matter. Its just mind boggling to me that the words "Oh you don't know Spanish? You ain't a "REAL" Puerto Rican" come out of any ones mouth. Its at this point that I have 3 options:

    1. I could explain my past and why I no longer speak fluent Spanish... Why would I do that for someone whom I either don't know or barely know? My past is no ones business but mine and my story is a very personal one.
    2.  I could ask them if they expect every Asian they meet to speak their native tongue or every Italian they meet to speak Italian... Does every Italian have to know how to make fresh mozzarella? The answer is NO! Why? Because you would never question it, if someone says they are Italian or French or any other heritage its just accepted. So why is my heritage being questioned? I just don't get it?
    3. I could be just as rude as they are being and tell them to shove it up their ass! I'm sorry I'm not living up to your stereo typical expectations of what you think a Puerto Rican should be. Your approval does not make me who I am, I do.

Its just rude people. Yes! I am Puerto Rican. Yes! I was born there and Yes! I spent a lot of my childhood there. Yes! 100% and very proud of it but I do not have to prove it to you or anyone else for any reason! I am so sick and tired of hearing it. I wish people would just realize how offensive it is.

I know I'm not alone in this. I know there are more of you, from all different walks of life that feel the way I do. Send me a message or leave a comment below if you have felt the way I have felt.

    Thanks for stopping by,
    Kat

    Falsies

This is a great how to. If you like falsies but haven't given them a try. This should help tremendously.

    Praying for Newtown

Now I'm not usually a religious person and I usually like to keep my blogs upbeat and positive but I can't keep quiet about this.

My heart is broken for the families of these babies that have been taken from their loved ones so soon. As a parent, I cannot imagine getting that call, going to my baby's school and waiting. Just
waiting by. The pit in my stomach. Looking at other parents emotional embraces when they see theirs. And just waiting for you baby's smiling face to come around the corner and never does. The feeling of heartbreak. The overwhelming amount of anger and sadness. The blood draining from your face and the hole opening in your heart that can never and will never be filled again. I can't imagine the feeling of coming home to a house full of beautiful memories and knowing that those will be the last memories. Knowing that your baby must have been terrified, in so much pain and you couldn't be there to protect them.

From the moment we have children, we make it our duty, our pleasure, to love them, teach them to be safe, and protect them always. We never think that such a tragedy will happen in the safest of places. A school.

School is the place where you learn, where you go to be protected from things like hurricanes, tornados and other natural disasters. We never think that it would be a place for tragedy of this magnitude yet here we all are, Thinking what if this were my child's school?

With this said, I invite you to share your thoughts and prayers and join me in telling these families that we, the parents of the entire world, support them and are coming together as one.

    Just "Keek"in it!

There's a new social media app called Keek. I just got an invite today. It looks like a sort of Twitter or Instagram but for videos.

Has anyone else heard of it?
    Do you use it?
Do you think it's worth signing up for another social media site?

    Leave me your feedback.

Urban Decay Naked Skin BB Cream!

I'm not gonna lie, I've really been hatin' on
BB Creams lately. I always feel like they're a
glorified tinted moisturizer. Last weekend I went on a road
trip with a couple of friends and one of them asked me to just
    give them a chance....I'm thinking....
    URBAN DECAY!
    THIS IS MY CHANCE!

NYX Ultra Pearl Mania in Pearly Black.

I've been wanting a good quality multi use primer that's not going
to break my wallet. I'm really hoping this one is worth me
    splurging!

    Be a... BOMBSHELL!

The shade is called HOTMESS! Its a beautiful vibrant retro
looking candy apple red!Usually red glosses tend to be bit
sheer but this one stayed true to color when I swatched it.
I cant wait to create a vintage look with this one!

    Last but not least...

URBAN DECAY 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil in black.

I see this getting lots and lots of use!

So as you can see, I cant wait to try these new products out and review them! I'm hoping a few of them will make it to my "These are a few of favorite things" segment.

    TWERK while you WORK!

What is a TWERK you ask?

    twerk

to work one's body, as in dancing, especially the rear end

She was twerking it on the dance floor.

    1. Stance before you Dance

    Get your stance!

            2. Check Yo-Self

Look back at it! Make sure your booty is out and your legs are strong. You dont want to lose your footing doing this move.

             3. Wreck Yo-Self

Get your STANK face on and pop your booty in and out. Get low if you need to... most importantly, when all else fails... Throw the crowd a peace sign to let em know that you are A-OK!

           4. Face The Facts

Let em know you aint playin no games! Its all about you and you do what  you want!

These are a few of my favorite things...

Here are the picks for my NOVEMBER Faves!

    1. Avon Supershock Max

Starting out with a BANG! This is the mascara that I spoke about at the end of my last blog. Now, I have to be honest, when I opened this little gem, I thought for sure I would hate it. The formula looked thick and clumpy, the bristles looked too short and it didn't seem to look as if there were enough of them. Like all products, I don't knock em' til I try em'. So There I was, 7am, getting ready for work, thinking that i was going to be very disappointed in this mascara when MAGIC happened. With each stroke of the brush, my lashes got thicker and thicker. With each application, they got longer and longer. I was so impressed! No clumps and each lash seemed to separate perfectly. To top off my excitement, I got TONS and TONS of compliments! So many people noticed how thick my lashes looked!
    AVON SUPERSHOCK MAX=MY NEW BFF!

This too is one of my new besties. I received this in my November Ipsy Bag (formerly MyGlam). I've had brow gels before but this one really is "the bees knees" he he. The formula is light and airy and doesn't make you feel like you have a thick coat of gel on your brows. It doesn't flake like some others tend to do and your brows stay put. I have the clear because i like to use my brow filler before I apply the gel. The gel then blends the brow filler so that it doesn't at all look like I actually have a brow filler on. Just naturally full brows. Definitely purchasing more of this product.

and the Bonus Fave... Not just for November but of all time is......

This is the season 2 promo. Just to give you a little smidgen... just a little taste of what I think is the FUNNIEST SHOW EVER MADE! Modern Family comes in 2nd and F.R.I.E.N.D.S. being a close 3rd. Season 3 is in full effect so get watching! Everyone MUST click the link above and check this show out! I promise you will laugh and laugh and laugh and laugh.... Seriously you will laugh!

    Not a Fan!

I just have to say that I am NOT a fan of this mascara!

What a disappointment! I really thought that the cool spirally bristles that bend slightly at the end were going to be a hit. But in fact, in my book, they are a bust. The formula was so thin that it felt that I was just coating my lashes with water.  If you're looking for that "just got done crying my eyes out" lash look, this is the mascara for you! ;) Don't get me wrong, I do like a thin formula on days that I'm creating a more natural look but this wasn't creating any look. There was no depth or fullness added. I don't know who thought of the name "Super Drama" but obviously they didn't know the true meaning of DRAMA.

    Drama: (source Urban Dictionary)
A way of relating to the world in which a person consistently overreacts to or greatly exaggerates the importance of benign events.

Typically "drama" is used by people who are chronically bored or those who seek attention.

People who engage in "drama" will usually attempt to drag other people into their dramatic state, as a way of gaining attention or making their own lives more exciting.

Common warning signs/ risk factors of drama or a dramatic person are:

    1. Having one supposedly serious problem after another.

    2. Constantly telling other people about one's problems.

    3. Extreme emotionality or frequently shifting, intense emotions.

    4. Claiming to have experienced negative events that are highly implausible.

    5. A boring job or mundane life.

    6. Making claims without sufficient evidence or a lack of detail about supposedly serious events.

    7. A pattern of irrational behavior and reactions to everyday problems.
Sarah had a slight fever and mild cough. She decided to use drama, in order to receive sympathy and attention, so she told everyone she was deathly ill.

Debra lost her keys then spent four hours crying and yelling at her husband.

Mary did not answer her cell phone for an hour, so John feared that she had died in a horrible car accident.
So why are my lashes not standing out or causing a scene? I'll tell you why! Because this mascara is BOOORRING! Such a disappointment! However, I will be posting a review on a mascara (also from Avon) that I didn't have high hopes for but totally exceeded my expectation. BE ON THE LOOKOUT!
